It is hard to imagine, here in 2009, that Paul Van Dyk has been releasing singles for over fifteen years. Listening to his original version of "For an Angel" brings back many fond memories of our early years in NYC, going to clubs, making mixes and creating music --largely influenced by the mixes and originals of Paul Van Dyk. Undoubtedly, I share these same memories with many of my fellow InternetDJ members who also came together around this time.

So it stands that Mr. Van Dyk has collected a truly staggering package of his original works in VOLUME. Disc one features some of our favorite singles ingeniously presented in one continuous mix. Standout moments include the energizing chorus from "Another Way", the haunting/inspiring progression and lyrics from "Together We Will Conquer" and the high-energy infused masterpiece "The Other Side".

Disc two features a selection of Mr. Van Dyk's remix work of such high-profile mainstream artists as U2, Depeche Mode, New Order and Faithless. Some of the remixes you might have missed-- that you need to check out right now—include U2 – Elevation, Faithless – Bring My Family Back and Binary Finary’s 1998. Paul's version of 1998 breathes new life into this absolutely massive classic.

The compilation is truly the ultimate testament to a genius of modern music, rivaled by few others in our genre electric. VOLUME inspires, excites and invites the listener to examine the ever-evolving principles of electronic music creation. Volume is released in stores on June 9, 2009 and May 26 online and will be followed by a supporting tour.
