Just can’t get no release? Then you might want to check in with Roger Sanchez
when he throws his Release Yourself party tomorrow at Miami’s Mansion.
Celebrating 10 years of his Ibiza residency, this year’s theme is “The Beginning of a New Era”, and it promises something novel indeed: Sanchez’ seven-hour set will be accompanied by a mindboggling display of 3D visuals.
One tune you’re sure to hear is ‘2Gether’, Sanchez’ new track featuring the Somali-Canadian poet, rapper and musician K’Naan (as well as one cheeky ‘80s sample). It’s out this week on the Stealth WMC Sampler 2010; coming soon are remixes from EDX
, Chus
, Nick Bridges
, Chris Moody
and more. Sanchez is also offering an exclusive remix of ‘2Gether’, by Alex Armes
and Scott Anselmo
, for free download. Just go here to get the goods.
Since the spirit of re-invention is in the air, it seemed like the perfect timing to take a peek inside Roger Sanchez’ mind, and figure out the forces that took him from his childhood in Queens to becoming one of the reigning kings of house music.
